It’s the last Friday night of the Fringe 2025 and what a way to end with Amelia Hamilton. 

Stand-up comedian and rapper, Amelia is a stand out talent. Her rapping is impressive, witty, and equally dark humour and poignant. Combined with her comedic timing and hilarious faces, she invokes laughter throughout her set. It’s one of the only shows I’ve been to that didn’t have an awkward pause in the hilarity or energy. Indeed, the only pause is on purpose which was incredibly funny. 

As a millennial, Amelia explores the meaning of potential, especially for a generation that was raised on the ideal of achieving greatness (so long as she worked hard enough), in a very broken and rigged system. She shares stories of breaking up with her ex, living at home again with her parents, and her pole dancer sister. It’s relatable, high-energy hilarity and genuine.  

A fellow audience member described it perfectly – a flirtatious rap for the modern anxious mind. It is the most original Fringe show I’ve seen this year. You do not want to miss the talent that is Amelia Hamilton.
