Canada’s Drag Race Season 5’s Uma Gahd, a magnetic presence known for lighting up stages across Montreal, brings her delightful solo show back to the Edinburgh Fringe, two years after its debut in 2023. With her captivating lip-syncing and fabulous storytelling, Gahd crafts a performance that feels less like a stand-up set and more like a one-person play: intimate, surprising, and feels like getting to know her on a deeper level.

Gahd makes excellent use of her seemingly bottomless, Mary Poppins-style bag of props, to keep the
audience on our toes. And she chooses a range of songs to perfectly fit the storytelling. As the show draws to a close, Gahd reminds the audience that the Fringe is about trying something new. If you’ve never seen a drag performance before, this show, rich in humour and heart – is an ideal place to begin.

Charming, cleverly constructed, and bursting with personality, this is one of the Fringe’s hidden gems just off the Royal Mile.
