Watch out, Bigfoot’s about! And by about, we mean made up by two teenagers who stage sightings and suffer horrible consequences.

With ping pong dialogue and clever choreography, Xhloe and Natasha exhibit a perfect partnership. The duo are so in sync, it feels like a performance they were born to do. With faces painted white and cheeks pink, the mine makeup allows them to move rapidly and convincingly across the many paranoia-fuelled residents of the Appalachian town. From slumped stoner brothers to hunched pack-a-dayers, their total commitment and precision cultivates an impressive level of immersion.

The sound and light design are exquisite. Frantic neon flashes heighten the tension and wholly transform the space. While the women’s physicality brings the townsfolk to life, the light serves to represent their deteriorating mental state as the conspiracy escalates beyond repair. The squelch of man’s best friend torn in two by the mythical monster and the crispness of the background noises adds a crucial realism that compliments the more absurd elements.

Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Two I Saw It asks what is the truth and how much does it really matter? In the case of this surreal, immaculately crafted, and sold-out show, the truth is that it’s more than deserving of the hype.
