Bliss tells an empowering story, reminding audiences that uniqueness is a superpower. 

We’re immediately introduced to the four princesses Piper, Carmella, Faye and Holly. Four sisters all distinct from one another, each with their own passions and unfolding stories ahead. Trapped in a tower all their lives, they yearn to enter the outside world, so they decide to escape together. From then on, the audience sees our own reality reflected in theirs: societal pressures, insecurity and people hoping to exploit weakness all reveal themselves, forcing the sisters to navigate this new world while trying to keep hold of one another and their sense of self.

With catchy, fun and powerful songs, the audience is pulled right into the story. The music is a mix of pop punk and ballads, which will draw in today’s younger audience who will feel Bliss’ message in their bones. The new musical isn’t just for young people; this story will connect with anyone who’s felt unsteady and as if they needed to change to fit in. It’s a tale built on sisterhood and embracing who you truly are, even if that’s not the perfect princess you’re expected to be.

Bliss starts strong with excellent performances from the whole cast throughout, but the new musical begins to lose itself near the middle when the production begins feeling like it was built for a bigger space. That being said, Bliss will do brilliantly on a larger stage with two separate acts, allowing this empowering story the space it needs to breathe. 

Selling quickly, Bliss is definitely one you won’t want to miss.
