Hi Chloe. You’re bringing your show Big Naturals to the Fringe. How are you feeling?

I’m very excited this year. It could be because it’s my fourth show and I know it will be fun. I know now that everything will work out in the end.

So what’s it about?

The show is about lad culture and how I grew up in the midst of it. There are lots of different aspects of it that I find incredibly fun and funny.

I love being a football fan. I love Kasabian and Oasis.

I also knew at the time that was something I wasn’t allowed to be because I was a little girl.

Basically I’m a mixture of lad and lesbian.

So are you more critical of that culture now?

There’s only so far that lad culture can take you – because it’s a reaction to third wave feminism. And we’re going that way again – with Andrew Tate and incel culture. Fundamentally it is pretty empty.

There’s a lot of panic about young men in the culture and I want to talk about that.

What sort of comic do you think you are?

I like to feel relaxed and in control when I’m on stage. I feel like I’ve invited people to a party and it’s my responsibility to make them feel safe and at home in the room. And to make them laugh.

I want it to be a mixture of silliness and truth.  I want everybody to be able to access it and enjoy it but I also want to be saying something…
