Chris Turner’s aspirations to become a musician and a comedian have been ingrained within him from a
young age, as we can see from his primary school questionnaire. Chris makes it clear he couldn’t have pursued this career without the support and encouragement from his father. In spite of his mother’s scepticism Chris has made great strides in achieving his dreams.

The talented performer is now a father himself of a young daughter named Ada and living in Brooklyn with his wife who has herself, realised her dream of becoming an author in spite of her dyslexia. His thoughts turn to what kind of parents he wants to be.

The audience are treated to a joyous hour of musical comedy as the comic rattles through a series of
humorous songs on various different subjects in several different music genres with his two-man backing
group known as The Child Labourers. Chris Turner showcases his talented improv skills creating songs and freestyle raps from audience members suggestions for their dream job and most valued advice.

Various family snaps and videos are projected onto the screens which would have been more suited to a
larger, more spacious venue. The narrative arc of the performance is quite simplistic but despite this
the audience becomes complete enamoured with Chris Turner’s captivating performance on stage.
