Lewis Capaldi is Invited and Absolutely No One Else (WIP) by Cobin Millage is a gem of the free Fringe. While technically only one person is officially invited, Cobin Millage’s warm and encouraging invitation extends to all who seek a unique Fringe experience.

Hailing from Canada, Cobin’s quirky historical interests, offbeat tangents, and sharp musings take centre stage in this debut show. As a standout on the Scottish comedy circuit, Cobin shines in crowd work, effortlessly engaging the audience with his witty anecdotes and filling the intimate venue with his larger-than-life personality. His ability to put everyone at ease creates an atmosphere perfect for a night out filled with unexpected humour.

What sets Cobin apart is his skill in handling hecklers, turning rowdiness into seamless comedy gold. From tales of crocs and dating escapades on Vinted to stories about his hometown of Calgary and even margarita-flavoured condoms, Cobin’s material keeps the laughter flowing. While Lewis Capaldi’s absence might be disappointing, the empty reserved chair for him adorned with fairy lights becomes a symbol of the show’s playful spirit.

Though some stories could be trimmed down, Lewis Capaldi is Invited and Absolutely No One Else (WIP) remains an hour filled with zingers, easy laughs, and a promise of more to come. If this is just a Work In Progress, the prospect of a fully-formed show is exciting to say the least.
