Garry Starr has returned to the Fringe on a mission to save books from extinction. He’s so dedicated to the cause that he filled up his suitcase with orange paperbacks, leaving no room for clothes. Except a pair of flippers that is…
As the show feeds on shock for sustenance, those returning for another hour and ten of Starr mania will be delighted to know that he’s taken his flightless bird to new and more staggering heights. This year’s production features thrilling scenes of farcical interpretations of revered novels, and even some consensual regurgitation.
Despite multiple warnings that photography is prohibited, a disobedient man whips out his phone during a recreation of Gulliver’s Travels in which Starr straddles his friend who is taped to the floor. What would be a suitable punishment for interrupting Classic Penguins?
A. Forced to delete the photo
B. A kiss on the mouth by a nude Australian in an Elizabethan ruff
C. Ejected from the theatre by security
D. All of the above
It’s a Garry Starr show. Of course it’s all of the above.
