Kacie Rogers reckons with grief and regret as she (quite literally) navigates her dreams in this creative, character-focused play. 

The story and style is an inventive take on a solo show with a large “cast” of characters. The monologue is never monotonous as Rogers blends internal struggles with external conversations, sometimes with an imaginary scene partner and sometimes with herself. This skilful blend of the internal and external experience layers in emotional revelations that feel very genuine, leaving ample room for complexity in relation to grief, romance, and family dynamics. 

Rogers is a very talented actress who moves between characters like she’s slipping through her own personal multiverse. The quick yet natural transitions allow her to embody each person through mannerisms and voice in a way that looks completely natural and keeps the scene alive. This clever technique brings the world to life with even greater effect than the media elements that support Rogers’ performance. A particularly standout scene had her switching almost second by second through a string of diverse and distinctive characters. 

The story itself will be relatable to many actors, but also anyone who has felt like pursuing their passions comes with an unfair cost, who see their dream within reach and are longing for assurance.
