Is this a show about body image? About medicine’s representation of breasts? Is this the greatest art of all time? Or is it a weird fever dream shared with a group of strangers in a basement theatre? With TITCLOWN, Jessica Aszkenasy presents something truly unique to the fringe spectrum.

Upon entering, the audience was greeted by a waving Aszkenasy from a fold out table. The set is already chaotic, with stick-on boobs hanging in one corner, wings in another, and a set of heels on a standing speaker. Immediately, the vibe in the room was, “This is going to be a wild ride,” and truthfully, it was.

TITCLOWN is a one-woman-show about boobs, completely in French. Just go with it. The entire production requires audience participation, so be prepared to be on stage alongside Aszkenasy, or approached by her in your seat. Don’t worry, before she plops one of her boobs on your forehead, she will ask for consent via a thumbs up or down!

A one of a kind experience. It was funny, thought provoking, and uncomfortable. Though, in the end, there was seemingly no deeper meaning, and you leave the theatre unsure what you’ve just consumed… You do leave laughing, which is a sign of good clowning.
