Kathryn is hosting the first installment of her community cookin’ show, Cooking with Kathryn, a
position that she took over from her mother, also Kathryn, who passed just seven days prior.
Now Kathryn is the ‘star’ of the show, but can she handle the pressure or is she doomed to
disappoint her Momma and all the Forekathryn’s before her?

It doesn’t take long for the cracks in Kathryn’s southern belle facade to begin to show, and with
her boyfriend of twelve days and her church’s pastor in the audience, tensions are high… Of
course, the program doesn’t go to plan and the audience becomes witness to an identity crisis
played out over brunch and star anise chicken dinner.

Kate Owens does such a fantastic job of bringing this character to life, it was easy to fear, for a
moment, that you had ended up in a very serious, religious show about a woman who loves
church hosting a godly cookin’ show. This bizarre and silly show takes the audience on a wild,
chaotic trip with a woman who desperately wants to do everything right, but also yearns to find
self acceptance. With physical and visual gags that will leave you either laughing or slack jawed,
it’s a heck of a time!
