After The Sun released an article stating her joke (I started dating a zookeeper, but it turned out
he was a cheetah), “Killed Comedy” at the 2023 Fringe, Lorna Rose Treen is out to “kill theatre”
next! Presenting a play about a, surprisingly accurate, small, 24 hour diner in the middle of
nowhere, rural USA, Treen is a laugh riot!

You never know what kind of character you’re going to meet at a 24 hour diner. At the Blue Tit,
named after the time the waitress slammed her boob into a refrigerator, you get all sorts! A long-
armed long-haul trucker, a head-gear-clad girl who just had her first kiss, a diner robbing duo,
an undercover former spy, and even a deer! Yes, one of the characters in this show is a literal
deer! So, for a good time, come on down to the place where everyone knows your name.

24 Hour Diner People is a terribly funny show, though, some of Treen’s characters seemed
incomplete. Some, like the waitress and the girl who just got her first kiss, shined, while others
left you wanting more. Maybe if the character’s storylines had intertwined with each other more,
the big payoff at the end would have been even funnier. Either way, this is another hilarious
production by Treen.

So, has Treen killed theatre with 24 Hour Diner People? We’ll have to see how The Sun
responds.
