In Max Fulham’s debut Edinburgh Fringe show he pushes the boundaries of ventriloquism.
Instead of relying only on a variety of puppets, Fulham attempts to showcase his voice throwing
ability by also using non-traditional devices. In one section of the show he pulled a man from the
audience and had him stand in as his ventriloquism teacher who was famous for “never moving
his lips” and in another, he uses a piece of Billie Bear Ham.

Fulham was accompanied on stage by an ominous box that contained all of his darkest inner
thoughts. The box would frequently interrupt Fulham with things Fulham didn’t want to talk about
in a room full of strangers. Also acting as a great transition tool to get from one act to the next.
If you’re a puppet fan, don’t worry, Fulham is joined on stage by several puppets. In fact, there’s
something for just about everyone, even those who struggle checking out at the self-check out
lane!

Max Fulham: Full of Ham is a unique ventriloquism comedy set that presents the question,
“Does ventriloquism have to be just about puppets?” Fulham’s self-deprecation comedy and his
banter with the audience made it easy to relate to him. It goes without saying, his ventriloquism
skills are incredible. Overall, the show was very funny, though it felt that there were a lot of
ideas packed into one hour, because of this, some of the acts felt under utilized. Nevertheless, a
terrific first outing for Fulham.
