“Call me John Lewis cus your mum loves everything I’ve got.”

Ice Ice Nepo Baby sees improv rapper MC Hammersmith searching for clues about the identity of his biological parents. The show features crowd favourites such as ‘Random Object Freestyle,’ in which he encourages us to hold up the weirdest object in our bag for him to incorporate into the rap. Whether it’s a sausage roll or a sex toy (both produced within the same show), he makes every line stimulating and never rhymes the obvious.

If MC Hammersmith’s mouth moves that fast, how quickly does his brain work? During the legendary ‘Let’s See Who’s Sitting in the Front Row’ portion of the show, he switches seamlessly from rapping about a drug dealer (read: pharmacist) in the audience to roasting someone for illicitly filming. It’s so smooth, witty, and unexpected, the rest of the room are equally delighted and unequivocally warned against doing the same. 

He is the Master of Euphemism, consistently spitting inventive and vulgar couplets. While attempting to seduce a software engineer with a passion for photography, he explicitly serenades him to the beat of ‘Pony’ while referencing hardware, floppy disks, and the size of his Canon.
