Pear is back! This year, 6’7” identical twins Patrick & Hugo McPherson, are attempting their most ambitious hour yet – They’re going to solve the audience’s phobias!

After all, everyone’s got one. Prior to the start of the show, there was a cauldron on stage that invited audience members to write out their greatest phobias. Later on, Patrick & Hugo read the fears aloud and worked through problems like “losing your memories,” “tsunamis,” and “disappointing daddy.” The front row was often pulled on stage to participate in the show, either being given a key sound gag for a specific moment or playing a character in an entire sketch. 

Sandwiched between songs and dance breaks, the sketches revolved around different things that are traditionally linked to fear. Things like noises in the dark of the desert, ghost hunting, very tiny hands, and more. In an especially funny moment, Patrick & Hugo presented several incredibly short sketches for those who find themselves terrified of a quick joke.

With chaotically fast pacing and non-stop laughs, Pear: Phobia was a wild ride that never allowed the audience a moment to catch their breath. Patrick & Hugo effortlessly commanded the stage, a masterclass in sketch comedy. An unpearably funny hour.
