Get ready for an utterly heart-warming, wholesome and hilarious show (a perfect match for the delightfully comical Cowbarn at Underbelly, Bristo Square). Sammy J: Hero Complex proves that truth can be stranger than fiction. What starts as an innocent 1990s comic-book swap between a young Sammy J and his school gardener triggers an outrageous, decades-long butterfly effect that ultimately culminates into this well-structured hour-long Fringe set. 

As the set unravels via the use of old diary entries, archival clips and witty musical interludes, expect accidental criminal activity, police raids and an overall great time. He sure packs a lot into the set, guaranteeing the audience get their money’s worth. 

It’s an absolute masterclass in storytelling comedy; energetic, tight, and effortlessly funny. Quite simply, Hero Complex is comic genius and a must-see triumph at this year’s Fringe.
