Síomha Hennessy has always wanted to be a 16-year-old pop star, but now that she’s 35 she’s wondering where she went wrong.

This cabaret is an unapologetic glimpse into the realities of getting older, even if you still feel young. Wearing a flapper dress, a blue boa, and two red gloves (one with only four fingers) Síomha sings and dances to songs about her under utilized coil, dating app struggles, and dad’s hoarding habits.

In between, she tells stories of her life growing up in Ireland and how she dreamed of escaping her junk-filled home for fame. She agonizes over bullies in school not calling her a slut and obsesses over a guy who has blocked her number. She wants to be a feminist, but she also wants to destroy the whore her ex is marrying. You know, normal millennial stuff.

30 Under 30 is capped off with a singalong. Síomha gets the audience on their feet and has them sing harmony with her while clapping and dancing. Certainly a very unique end to the show.

The songs are catchy, the stories are funny, I only wish it was more chaotic. There was a rawness to the performance that felt honest, but unfinished.
