Anemone Valcke and Verona Verbakel reveal the internal dialogue we rarely share out loud. They strip back layers of themselves that remain hidden from the outside world, and share them with us.

From the start, your relationship with the performers feels uncertain, deliberately so. The Ego invites us into their process, celebrating the journey rather than presenting a polished product. This isn’t meant to be shiny – it’s truthful, raw, performed by two fearless actors willing to confront complex issues without offering easy solutions.

The Ego doesn’t attempt to solve the problems it raises but brings them boldly to the surface, leaving you questioning and emotionally charged. It tackles transgressive behaviour and internalised misogyny with unflinching honesty, serving as a stark reminder not to dismiss inappropriate situations we encounter.

Using minimal staging, two chairs and a screen, they create something both confronting and entertaining with their sharp wit. This is a show that needs to be made, performed by fearless actors and a creative team unafraid to expose uncomfortable truths about power, complicity, and credibility.
