This physical theatre piece profoundly delves into the nuanced relationship between a man and a boy. It’s a playful, explorative journey filled with moments of physical play that are both touching and thought-provoking. It is clear the piece has been developed organically through experimentation, play and a high level of trust between the two performers.

The integration of beautiful soundscapes, music, and dynamic lighting elevates the performance, creating an immersive experience. A standout moment involves a light through a tunnel which lights the man. Then, when the backdrop is dropped, the light illuminates the young man as he sings the poignant line, “I don’t feel down.” This moment is both visually and emotionally striking, encapsulating the essence of the performance.

At its core, the piece explores the essence of manhood. What does it mean to be a man, today? While young audience members giggled at times, it was the adults who seemed to take away more profound reflections. The show subtly highlights that children are always listening and learning, often mimicking the actions of adults around them. 

The performance offers an incredibly enjoyable experience that seems to pass by in no time. The young man in the show truly shines, but their friendship and respect for one another is at the heart of the show, showing us all a soft, caring side of masculinity.
